Umbran Tears Of Blood
Umbran Tears Of Blood
You can try to complete the game on Hard difficulty to unlock Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty and gain some achievements in the process, as well as picking up crows with Umbran Tears Of Blood. In fact gaining achievements/trophies in the game goes towards your Umbran Tears Of Blood count, 50 of the 101 Tears comes from achievements/trophies. Your reward for gaining all Umbran Tears of Blood is the chance to purchase the Climax Bracelet accessory. (See Bayonetta cheats for an alternative method of gaining the Climax Bracelet.)
The Climax Bracelet allows you to enter the kind of battle mode Bayonetta is in during the big boss fights where most of her attacks end in Wicked Weaves of some sort. However equipping the Climax Bracelet will cause you to have no score that can be uploaded to the Leaderboards, and cannot be used in Angel Slayer.
Achievement/Trophy Help
Because of the game’s achievements/trophies being part of the Umbran Tears Of Blood, here are some hints to help you with specific ones:
Nice Try
Engage Witch Time ten times consecutively.
Hint: Go redo an Alfheim mission where you are able to engage Witch Time, and try and get it there. The more enemies there are the greater the opportunity to do this.
PLATINUM!
Get 10 Platinum medals, must be earned in 10 different battles.
Hint: You won’t get this by getting it on the same verse in the same chapter; it does need to be different verses.
Double, Double, Toil And Trouble
Create 20 Concoctions.
Hint: Actually be sure to create at least one of each of the different recipes on the sheet.
Tread Not So Softly
Kill an enemy by jumping on top of them.
Hint: Equip something powerful like Kilgore to your feet when you go up against some Dear & Decorations. Jump near the small Decorations and then press jump again to kill it.
Nice And Relaxed
Avert 10 enemy attacks with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa equipped.
Hint: Buy the accessory Mahaa-Kalaa and equip it for a while and try using it by moving the left analogue stick in the direction of an enemy that is just trying to attack you.
Touch And It Will Hurt
Counter 10 enemy attacks with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa equipped.
Hint: You need to move the left stick at the last possible moment to deflect an enemy attack.
Touch And It Will REALLY Hurt
Counter three enemy attacks consecutively with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa equipped.
Hint: Same as above, but you need to do it three times in a row.
Come Here, Little Boy
Taunt and defeat five plus angered enemies while taking no damage. Gaze of Despair may be equipped.
Hint: Equip the Gaze of Despair and do the Verse 1 battle against Dear & Decorations in Chapter V.
Wicked Weaver
Execute a Wicked Weave attack while using Dodge Offset.
Hint: You need to have bought the Dodge Offset technique from Rodin. In a battle, with either the Scarborough Fair or Shuraba equipped to your hands, press Y/Triangle, then dodge, then B/Circle, Y/Triangle.
Wicked Weave Master
Execute 20 Wicked Weave Attacks while using Dodge Offset.
Hint: See previous hint. Doesn’t need to be done consecutively, so you will probably end up gaining it during the course of the game.
The Deepest Cut
Kill 20 enemies using only Iai-Jutsu with Shuraba. (Iai-Jutsu performed by holding Y/Triangle.)
Hint: This does not need to be done consecutively. However there are two levels to how Bayonetta charges Shuraba, the second level (gained from holding the button down longer than the first level, it glows brighter) is the best to use as it does a lot more damage than the first level of charge.
Higher And Higher
While never setting foot on the ground, grab enemies 10 times using Kulshedra.
Hint: This is best done during the Alfheim challenge Stay In The Air! Hold Y/Triangle with Kulshedra equipped. This grabs an enemy towards you then jump and do it again. Keep repeating this until you gain the Achievement/Trophy.
The Ice Witch
????? 20 enemies while wearing ??????
Hint: Equip Odette, and try to attack enemies with them as much as possible. The charged attack leads to a greater rate of freezing. This does not need to be done consecutively.
Record Fanatic
Obtain ????? Complete Angelic Hymn Gold LPs.
Hint: Other than getting all of the Gold LPs from playing as Bayonetta, there are four you can gain while playing as Jeanne. See the ‘Get Jeanne as a playable character’ section below for further details.
Get Jeanne as a playable character
In order to gain Jeanne as a playable character you need to gain overall Platinum rating on each chapter in the game on either Normal difficulty or harder. This does not mean you need to complete each verse in each chapter with a Platinum rating, it just means that the chapter playthroughs must each average out at Platinum. Getting Platinum ratings on verses can be made easier by equipping the Gaze of Despair as it ups your combo multipliers. Just beware of the wrath from the Angels. See Bayonetta cheats for an alternative way of getting hold of Jeanne.
Note that playing as Jeanne is not quite the same as playing as Bayonetta. Her Witch Time technique is a little different to engage, as you need to use Moth Beast Within for it to work (the same as using Bayonetta’s Bat Beast Within technique).
Gaining Jeanne’s weapons
Jeanne has her own versions of some of Bayonetta’s weapons. In order to gain the Achievement/Silver Trophy Record Fanatic you must find Gold LPs for all of Jeanne’s weapons (as well as Bayonetta’s LP based weapons).
Jeanne’s Gold LP for her Garnet Roses is found after defeating the Beloved in Chapter I after Verse 4. The Gold LP for Angel Slayer is gained after defeating two Beloved in Chapter II Verse 5. Jeanne’s weapon Vritra comes from two Gold LP fragments, the first is in Chapter III after Verse 4 and having defeated your first Fairness; the second is when you are in Paradiso during Chapter III, after Verse 9 battle, it is on the island in the distance to the left of where you start.
Jeanne’s weapon Kali comes from three Gold LP fragments found during Chapter V. The first fragment is after Verse 2 when you have defeated a Grace & Glory pair; the second is after Verse 4; the final piece is while you go up the walkway after Verse 9/10, part way up there is a pool of water with a chest and the fragment is inside that chest.
Jeanne’s weapon Karen comes from three Gold LP fragments found during Chapter VI. The first fragment is in the chest behind you at the very beginning of the chapter; the second is found after the Verse 2 battle against the Inspired, go to the pile of rocks to the right of the ledge that you jumped down from originally into that area, break the rocks and break open the chest to gain the second fragment; the third piece is available after the Verse 9 battle before you go through the portal out of Paradiso.
Jeanne’s weapon Col. Slade comes from three Gold LP fragments found during Chapter IX. The first fragment is in the courtyard, to the right of where you enter it, behind the small wall with a sun painted on it, inside the chest there; the second fragment is made available after you defeat the two Kinships in the Verse 6 battle; the third fragment is up the stony walkway in the area you reach after the Verse 8 battle with the Joys, just go up the path (reached with Crow Beast Within), don’t go on the walkway of light, and go up to the top of the path where there is a wall with a sun on it, break the wall and combo the chest open to gain the third final piece.
Once you have those three weapons and all of the weapons that Bayonetta can gain from Gold LPs then you will get Record Fanatic.
Bayonetta’s other weapons
Beyond the weapons you get from Golden LPs, there are several weapons you pick from completing the game on various difficulty levels and during a particular fight. Below is how and when you get these other weapons:
Handguns: Complete the game on Normal difficulty.
Bazillions: These laser guns are rewarded to you upon completing the game on Hard difficulty. See Bayonetta cheats for an alternative.
Pillow Talk: This laser sword is rewarded to you upon completing the game on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty. See Bayonetta cheats for an alternative.
Rodin: Gain 10 million halos during the whole of your plays on the game, save your game and visit The Gates of Hell. You will be able to purchase the Platinum Ticket for 999,999 halos. Purchasing the ticket will lead you to a secret boss battle that is extremely difficult to complete. You will certainly need Pillow Talk to battle here, quick reactions, and knowing when to run off using Panther Beast Within. Though there is another way of gaining this weapon, see Bayonetta cheats for how.
Sai Fon: These nun chucks are rewarded to you when you have completed a total of a hundred chapters. See Bayonetta cheats for an alternative.
Accessories and Treasures in The Gates of Hell
If you still have items that are ‘Coming Soon’ in either of these departments, gaining Bayonetta’s other weapons puts other Umbran Elegances on sale, and completing the various challenges to get different accessories will obviously make them available too. The accessory Eternal Testimony only becomes available for sale after you have gained at least 50 of the Umbran Tears Of Blood (remember that it doesn’t have to be the ones found on crows).
Lost Chapter – Angel Slayer
This mode is similar to the Bloody Palace in Devil May Cry. It is made of five verses each verse consists of ten separate battles with a menagerie of enemies, consisting of all the various different Angels you have fought in the main game and then throwing in Jeanne in her various guises. However it is not that simple, Verse 1 is set at Normal difficulty, but Verses 2 and 3 are at Hard difficulty and Verses 4 and 5 are at Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty.
Accessories and weapons that help in Angel Slayer
As with the Alfheim challenges you are unable to use healing items. This makes purchasing and equipping the Star of Dinéta essential. Leave a weak enemy at the end of a round and taunt it (LB/L1) to heal.
Purchasing the Evil Harvest Rosary is a good idea. While you won’t be able to enter Witch Time with it equipped, when you dodge an enemy’s attack it will unleash a purple orb that damages nearby enemies by the amount that the dodged attack would have hurt you by.
The Bracelet of Time (obtained by completing the game in under three hours on either Normal or harder, or see Bayonetta cheats for an alternative) is important in Verses 4 and 5, because in Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty you are unable to enter Witch Time normally. The only problem with using this accessory is that it will drain your Magic Gauge very quickly.
The other accessory that would be of use is the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa, and this accessory allows you to deflect an enemy’s attack. You have to move the left stick in the direction that the attacking Angel is. This can save you receiving critical amounts of damage here and in the regular game.
Kilgore is a handy weapon in some points of the battles, but having it equipped with Pillow Talk (the weapon you get for completing the main game on Non Stop Infinite Climax mode) can be a useful combination. The charged attack possible from Pillow Talk is extremely useful in Verses 4 and 5.
What do I get for completing Angel Slayer?
A new playable character dubbed Little King Zero. You will be able to play as him in the main game. See Bayonetta cheats for an alternative way of gaining this little guy.
Bayonetta-Guide-Epilogue-Requiem
Bayonetta-Guide
Epilogue-Requiem
Epilogue – Requiem
After the cutscene you take on the role of Jeanne. Similar to the controls for Route 666, drive Jeanne on her bike up the rocket, shooting Angels out as you go.
Verse 1
Just drive and shoot out the various Harmonies and a Kinship that turn up. You are able to dodge their attacks and enter Witch time.
Verse 2
Different camera position but same deal. Dodging attacks becomes more important here, as they are far more frequent. There are Joys with beams of light and braves on this rocket. Near the end of this section you will be asked to perform several quick jumps in order to continue progressing upwards so be sure to follow the prompts.
Verse 3
Another rocket section, with similar issues. Just drive, and evade the Enchants and Inspireds. Near the end you will lose the bike and need to perform a series of jumps in Witch Time.
Verse 4
Ignore the Dear & Decorations and just run up the plume, as Panther Beast Within or else you will be falling back down to Earth. After you have gone so far there is a cutscene. Again transform into Panther Beast Within and run up as quickly as possible avoiding the fireballs as you go.
Alfheim 21/Verse 5
Run up the metal column and onto the statue and continue as far as the statue’s chin then run back down to the metal column to find the final Alfheim Portal. For discovering it alone, you will receive the Achievement/Bronze Trophy The Path To The Heavens so long as you have found all the previous Alfheims listed in this walkthrough.
In this Alfheim challenge you must complete it as Jeanne. You must defeat all the enemies within the time limit, but only Wicked Weave attacks will harm them. Also Jeanne will only enter Witch Time if she dodges an attack using Moth Beast Within. You have a five hit limit. Equipping Shuraba and using the Y/Triangle, B/Circle, Y/Triangle combo that ends in a Wicked Weave is the easiest thing to do, just make sure that the first two parts of the combo don’t hit any enemies as it will break the combo as your weapon rebounds off of them. For completing this challenge you gain the final Broken Witch Heart fragment, and the Achievement/Gold Trophy Angel Slayer if you have done all the other Alfheims as well.
Verse 6
Run up the statue to engage a cutscene and the final boss battle of the game against Jubelius. Back as Bayonetta you are once again able to dodge attacks as normal. In the first part of the battle Jubelius’s attacks are similar to attacks from the various Angels in the game: fireballs, lasers, electricity, etc. Weak points to aim for in this stage of the fight are the feather like parts that sometimes root themselves in the area and have faces on. Attack the faces. Jubelius will do a punch combo as well, try to get Witch Time off of the third punch and attack its fist.
Having depleted a large chunk of its health, Jubelius will change the surroundings to a lava-based area similar to earlier parts of the game. Move over to the heads impaled in the rock, avoiding the lava and plumes of fire, and attack them to damage Jubelius. After you have damaged so many of these heads, Jubelius will send rocks into the air and in Witch Time you must quickly jump over to its head so that you may damage it as much as possible. Jubelius will fall giving you another chance to attack its head.
Once Jubelius gets up again, it will turn the area to ice, but do the same as you did in the lava area. Once all of the heads are gone, Jubelius will throw rocks up in the air, so jump in Witch Time to go and attack its head once more. Again, when it has received so much damage it will fall again giving you a chance to attack its head.
Getting up again, Jubelius will turn the area into a home of wind and electricity. Here you must jump between the various platforms, avoiding bolts of lightning, and damage the heads again before being able to get to Jubelius itself. Jubelius will fall again, giving you a further chance to damage it.
Once Jubelius is back up this time, it will attack as before, but with a host of more damaging attacks. There is one where galaxy like projectiles are sent towards you, it is so fast the easiest thing to do is to transform into Panther Beast Within and run away form them until they dissipate. If you get hit by them you will transform into Cereza, your younger self, for a time and are unable to attack, only run slowly. The most dangerous of its attacks, it punches the area below it and causes a black hole, which you must avoid being sucked into else you will die, transforming into Crow/Panther Beast Within helps to stop you being pulled down into it if you use them to move away from the hole.
Damaging Jubelius will greatly rely on you getting Witch Time from its punch combo and then hammering on the nearest fist. It also impales the area with its feather like structures so attacking them are useful. The missiles that Jubelius fires will follow you around, but if you hit them enough to make them dizzy you are able to use a command prompt by them to throw them up at Jubelius for damage.
When Jubelius has half of its final health bar left you will be prompted for a Climax Attack. Run up the hair bridge, avoiding Jubelius’s swipes at you, once you get so far you will be asked for another command prompt. Having tied Jubelius up, attack its face as quickly and furiously as possible, to be asked for another Climax Attack prompt. After following the prompts, you must carefully steer Jubelius’s body past the planets of the Solar System, and into the Sun. As with the climax of the fight against Balder with the lipstick and glass, you must not hit any of the planets.
Verse 7
After a false start to the credits and a short cutscene, you must now destroy the statue remains of Jubelius. You are working to a short time limit here, so get attacking away at the remains of the statue. Once the statue is in pieces there is another cutscene.
Just because the credits start rolling after the cutscene, does not mean your work is over. There are several battles during the credits.
Verse 8
A quick rematch against Jeanne.
Verse 9
Reliving an earlier moment of protecting Cereza from harm.
Verse 10
Taking on the Angels in the cemetery alongside Jeanne. All of your attacks are Wicked Weave attacks.
For completing the game on Normal difficulty you gain two Achievements/Silver/Bronze Trophies Chapters 14-Epilogue (Normal) and Umbra Witch. Completing the entire game on Normal unlocks Hard difficulty mode. You also get the weapon Handguns for completing on Normal, and if you have done all of the Alfheims, then Angel Slayer Lost Chapter has been added to the Chapter Select Menu.
Bayonetta-Guide-XVI-The Lumen Sage
Bayonetta-Guide
XVI-The Lumen Sage
Chapter XVI – The Lumen Sage
Verse 1
After the long cutscene, you are finally drawn into battle against Father Balder. He has three main attacks: lava spires, fireballs, laser, flying at you, a sword attack and a bubble he shoots out that follows you around the arena: these you may dodge and avoid as normal. There are several other attacks where you will need to perform button prompts in order to avoid being hurt by them. Obviously have fast weapons equipped, such as Shuraba, and attack when you don’t need to be dodging, but pull out of a combo with dodge if you need to in order to avoid an attack. If you are unable to get close enough to hurt him with your hand weapon, shoot him or use combos that end in Wicked Weaves. Once his first health bar is completely depleted you will be prompted for a Climax Attack.
During the second stage, on the second health bar, Balder’s attacks are similar to before, but with a greater inclusion of satellite lasers and throwing buildings at Bayonetta. Balder will also favour sword attacks more than before, the first two swings are difficult to Witch Time from but the third in his combo it is usually easy enough to enter Witch Time from evading. Be sure to lay on heavy combos when you have the advantage of Witch Time. After this second bar has been depleted completely, you will be prompted for a Climax attack.
The third stage is annoying as Balder concentrates on sword attacks near constantly and his combo length has increased. He is also faster. A shield repels gunfire, so you need to use either Wicked Weaves or need to get in close in order to damage him. It is still possible to activate Witch Time, but due to Balder’s increased speed it is more challenging to do so. The final Climax Attack is very different to previous ones. You must direct a lipstick at Balder’s head, be sure to not hit pieces of glass and if you do, put the lipstick back on the correct path. After the fight there is a cutscene.
Bayonetta-Guide-XV-A Tower to Truth
Bayonetta-Guide
XV-A Tower to Truth
Chapter XV – A Tower to Truth
Before you begin the chapter it is worth buying Bat Beast Within from The Gates of Hell if you haven’t done so already, as the move will prove invaluable in the Alfheim challenge during this chapter. Also if you have the funds to buy Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa that is also a good investment, especially for this stage in the game.
After the cutscene go the immediate right of where you start, transform into Panther Beast Within and jump over the railing and over to the other platform across the way. Find the chest here and combo it open to receive a Broken Witch Heart fragment. Continue along this platform and on the top left of the end of it is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal), the crow is sitting up in the structure by the left column. Once you have the fragment and blood return back to the platform that you started on.
Verse 1
The statues in the area that you begin in are a Fearless and Fairness, and while you do not need to engage them you will miss out on a Verse if you don’t. So attack their outer shell and then begin the usual play of dodging their attacks, entering Witch Time and getting in Wicked Weaves.
With the Fearless and Fairness either dead or ignored, continue along the corridor and up the stairs.
Verse 2
A group of Dear & Decorations ambushes you on the stairs. Deal with them to be then confronted by a pair of Ardors that are on fire, so you may only harm them during Witch Time, with guns or Kulshedra. Having defeated these enemies you may continue on up the stairs.
Verse 3
Go through the double doors and down another corridor to be greeted by three Braves. Beware, as they will quickly form into one single Brave that swings a very large pickaxe. Dodge their attacks and combo them as quickly possible or deal with the resulting larger Brave.
Go through the double doors at the end of the corridor and either choose to attack the statues of the Gracious & Glorious or ignore them.
Verse 4
Be careful while dealing with the Gracious & Glorious, as their attacks are far more powerful than Grace & Glory. It is unlikely that you will be able to initiate Witch Time against them, so take extra caution to not get caught up in combos and just dodge attacks as needed. Having either avoided or engaged the pair continue on through the double doors that were beside them.
Verse 5
In this corridor you are ambushed by a group of Joys. Concentrate on them one at a time. Thankfully you are able to engage Witch Time from dodging their attacks. Having killed the Joys move further along the corridor, through another set of double doors and up more stairs.
Verse 6
Halfway up the staircase you will be attacked by a group of Enchants (the wheel based enemies). When you have dealt with them, a pair of Grace & Glory appear. Repeatedly dodge and enter Witch Time to dispatch them without taking a serious hit to your health. Once the verse is over continue up the stairs.
Verse 7
An impostor Temperantia appears on the side of the building, but there is currently nothing you are able to do about it. Transform into Panther Beast Within and run down the corridor to encounter a group of Angels. Kill them and run up the nearby stairs.
Verse 8
Temperantia will reveal two gun turrets that you need to use in order to destroy it. Get onto one of the guns, read the instructions and begin aiming for Temperantia’s face and firing. However, when it starts shooting green bullets at you shoot down the bullets instead and try to dodge them to enter Witch Time to make it easier to shoot them down, but when it moves to use its laser attack or punch the turret you are in get out of it and dodge out of the way of the attack. Part way through the fight one of the turrets will be destroyed so you will be forced to use the other one and continue the fight as before until the impostor Temperantia is destroyed.
Alfheim 20/Verse 9
Return to the platform where you retrieved the Broken Witch Heart fragment from earlier. The challenge involves you defeating all of the enemies within a very short time limit, but the enemies are on fire and you cannot use Witch Time, which means that the only attacks that will harm them are long distance attacks, like your guns or Kulshedra and Torture Attacks. Perhaps the most effective Wicked Weave combo to use with Kulshedra, and is easy to pull off, is Y/Triangle, B/Circle, Y/Triangle. Make sure that the second hit doesn’t hit any enemies, only the first lash of the whip and the Wicked Weave at the end.
The advantage of using Kulshedra is that its attacks will hit enemies without them harming you, and its range is incredibly large, so in-between Wicked Weave you can hit away at enemies to build up your Magic Gauge as you find the best place to perform the Weave. You have a five hit limit and the enemies become more difficult the further you progress. Even though you are unable to enter Witch Time dodging attacks is extremely important, and having Bat Beast Within really helps with this. When you build up enough Magic Gauge it is worth using Torture Attacks on the stronger enemies when you have knocked down their health a bit. Your reward for completing this challenge is a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
Return to where you fought Temperantia and move on past the broken windows to the right. Before a doorway is one of Antonio’s notebooks ‘Island In The Sun-Isla Del Sol’. Once you have the book go through the doorway. In the lift room in one of the corners is a caged crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Hard). Break down one of the grills so that you may go through it and Wall Walk up the lift shaft; be ready for a quick command prompt to jump out of the way of a falling lift.
Verse 10
As you go up the lift shaft you will need to avoid falling lifts, and part way up an impostor Justice will confront you, and the lifts will stop for now. Avoid its tentacles and attempts to hit you with its outstretched head, but attack the small head. Once it has lost a significant amount of health, you will be able to climb onto the small head’s neck and run towards the main body of heads. Avoid tentacles and blades of light as you go along the neck. When you reach the main head, combo off the remaining health and then perform the Climax Attack as prompted.
With the impostor Justice defeated, run up the rest of the lift shaft and leave the area. There will be a small cutscene once you have completely left the lift area. Run along the side of the railing to find a Gates of Hell, stock up if you need to. Before you go jumping up on the floating platform look to the right of them and you will find a chest, combo it open to receive a Broken Witch Heart fragment. Also if you are playing on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty then there is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood in this area, (this is the final one in Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty).
Now ascend the floating platforms (behind the wall by the Gates of Hell) into the main part of this area. Go towards the blue device in front of where you enter this area, and move the pole to reveal platforms that come and go in waves. Before attempting the platforms run around the outer ring of this area to pick up Antonio’s notebook ‘Ithavoll CEO-I’. Then jump down a different opening in the floor and investigate this part.
Verse 11
Angels on fire are present in this lower area. You are only able to hurt them with long-range attacks, such as guns or Kulshedra, in Witch Time with other weapons or by using Wicked Weaves. Ideally dodge their attacks and cut them down to size during Witch Time.
After you have dealt with these Angels, go to one end of this lower area to relieve a chest of a Red Hot Shot (only on first play of level, Arcade Bullet on subsequent plays). At the other end is a cage that contains a crow carrying an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal). Break open the cage and quickly grab the Tear from it, the last one on Normal difficulty. Having retrieved all of that, jump back up the platforms into the main area.
Navigating the changing platforms that you are able to Wall Walk on is difficult. You need to start moving along them before they begin to disappear. There are midway points amongst the platforms and these are where you must aim for at first, as it is difficult to get across them in one go. The midway points are distinguished by being platforms that are much larger than the ones that keep appearing and disappearing.
Verse 12
Switch between the different midway points until you encounter a group of fire Angels. Use the same tactics as before (long range weapons and/or Witch Time led attacks). When one pair is done move on to another midway point until another pair of fire Angels appears. Once this second pair is dealt with the Verse ends.
From the midway points you are able to see another set of moving platforms and beyond that stationary ones like the midway platforms that you need to aim for in order to reach the places where the lift doors were shown at the beginning of the area. When on the next lot of stationary platforms, find one of the ledges that stick out to fall down onto. Once on one, use Crow Beast Within to navigate to the platforms in the middle with chests on them. One platform has Antonio’s notebook ‘Ithavoll CEO-II’, this is the final one and collecting it will give you the Achievement/Silver Trophy Truth in Its Purest Form. There is also a chest that you may combo open for a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
From that platform it is possible to jump on platforms or use Crow Beast Within to reach a ledge with a chest, combo it open to receive a Broken Moon Pearl fragment. This is the final Broken Moon Pearl fragment in the game. If you are on playing on Hard there is a caged crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood amongst the platforms and ledges (this is the last one in Hard difficulty).
Verse 13
Having picked up all the items from this area, head to the ledge with the lift doors. Landing on the ledge initiates a battle against an impostor Golem. As with previous battles against this stone sphere, you need to attack its central core whilst it is revealed, and dodge any attacks. It has a lot less health than the previous impostor bosses, so it should be reasonably easy to get its health down enough to perform a series of Climax Attack prompts.
Verse 14
With the Golem defeated, head back to the lift doors and enter the open one. Begin to Wall Walk up it. As with your previous journey up a lift shaft, another impostor, Sapientia this time, greets you. You need to attack his face, whilst being wary of the encroaching flames below you and dodging his claw and biting attacks. Whenever Sapientia retreats further up the shaft, quickly follow him so that you put greater distance between Bayonetta and the flames.
As soon as Sapientia is dead below you, transform into Panther Beast Within and run straight up the shaft before the flames completely engulf you. At the top you will fall through a glass ceiling. Having landed on a metal work sphere, move around it to find chains that you are able to cut loose, so cut loose all four globes that hold the chains. Once the sphere has stopped moving run along the path of light towards a strange sphere.
Bayonetta-Guide-XIV-Isla Del Sol
Bayonetta-Guide
XIV-Isla Del Sol
Chapter XIV – Isla Del Sol
The chapter begins with a cutscene.
Verse 1
Check out the controls for moving the missile, it is similar to the motorbike from Route 666. Remember that firing missiles uses one of your Magic Gauge Orbs. Your aim is to obviously have a safe flight to the island. So attacks, and evade enemies and missiles. You’ll have to shoot down an Inspired after several waves of Angels, Dear & Decorations and Harmonies. The Inspired’s fireball attacks can be dodged to enter Witch Time from.
With the Inspired down, another wave of enemies as before returns, then after them a group of Angels boards your missile and the view changes and you need to fight as normal. Now this fight would be simple enough if it were not for the fact that if you wish to receive one of the Broken Witch Heart fragments in the level, you need to kill the last Angel using a Torture Attack, so keep that Magic Gauge full. Thankfully no other Angels appear at this point on the missile, so just be sure to lose the Torture attack on the final Angel standing.
When you have killed the hijackers the view switches back to that of controlling the missile. Dear & Decorations, Harmonies and Angels appear, but after them, an impostor Fortitudo (two headed dragon) makes an appearance. A lot of your time will be spent dodging his attacks. Only fire on him if you’re not about to get yourself hit. It is possible to enter Witch Time from dodging his fire rock attacks.
Verse 2
Having defeated Fortitudo, more Dear & Decorations come to annoy you. Then you enter a covered area, with flying Braves and you need to dodge their rocky balls of flame attacks, but doing so puts you in Witch Time making it a great deal easier to shoot them down. With them down you must shoot more Angels, before being boarded again. As with the previous fight against a group of Angels, you must use a Torture Attack against the final Angel left in order to receive a Broken Witch Heart fragment, so keep an eye on your Magic Gauge.
Having killed your potential hijackers, the view switches to that of controlling the missile. More Braves appear shooting rocky balls of fire at you, so keep dodging and enter Witch Time to finish them off. Another group of Angels joins you, followed by Harmonies. Then three Inspireds appear. Shoot them down, whilst taking care to evade their attacks, which you may enter Witch Time from. As soon as the Inspireds are defeated, more Dear & Decorations appear followed by, Angels, Kinships (you need to dodge their laser beam attack) and Braves.
Having got past all that an impostor Temperantia shows up with a gathering of Dear & Decorations that fire at you. You need to attack its head when it is not doing its laser attack, which you should obviously dodge as much as possible and may enter Witch Time from. There is a cutscene after this battle has been won.
If you gain Platinum medals on Verses 1 and 2 you will receive the Achievement/Bronze Trophy Fire The Afterburners.
Verse 3
Just when you thought it was all over, you must fight Jeanne again. This time round she is faster than before and has a greater repertoire of attacks. Evading her Wicked Weaves is important so that you may enter Witch Time, and remembering to break off your own combos if it looks like you will be attacked by Jeanne. After Jeanne has lost so much health you will be given button prompts onscreen so be quick to follow them. The battle location will soon switch to the side of a building, where more command prompts appear to help you dodge missiles. After Jeanne’s health has been depleted further, the fight switches to a missile, and then a fountain by a building. After the fight there is a cutscene.

Chapter XIII – The Cardinal Virtue of Prudence
A cutscene opens the chapter.
Verse 1
This chapter is a boss fight against Sapientia. It goes through several stages. To begin with you need to dodge his initial attacks where he swims underwater and then resurfaces to attack you. When Sapientia stays above water you need to surf towards one of his legs and concentrate your attacks on the leg’s face. With one leg face down he will begin to attack you, but remain above water, so dodge his fireballs and missiles, and attack the next nearest leg face. With two leg faces down, Sapientia returns to swimming underwater and resurfacing to attack you. Just dodge and avoid his attacks and wait for him to stay above the water again. When he stays above water again, move to a leg face that you have yet to damage, and attack it, whilst avoiding Sapientia’s long-range attacks as before. With the third leg face destroyed move onto the fourth, and when that is done you will be asked to input a Climax Attack command.
In this Climax Attack you must follow onscreen prompts to direct Sapientia towards the giant Spider. Once this is done, Sapientia will again try swimming underwater once more and attacking you as he resurfaces. Dodge and avoid his attacks and wait for him to stay above water again. When that happens move in close and attack his front face whilst avoiding attacks from his legs. After he has been damaged by another huge chunk, Sapientia will return underwater and do resurfacing attacks on you, so wait for him to stay above water again and then attack the front face once more. This cycle will continue until you have significantly taken down his health.
When Sapientia has lost another significant amount of health you will be asked to perform the same Climax Attack as before. So take care to steer Sapientia towards the Wicked Weave spider, following button prompts as needed. With this over, surf down the whirlpool, avoiding and dodging Sapientia’s long-range attacks, to get close to his face once again. Near his face you will be subjected to attacks from its legs, and attempts to eat you, so dodge these and use Witch Time to help you combo his weak point on his main head. The battle ends in one final Climax Attack so follow the onscreen button prompts. After this there is a cutscene.
After the Angels have been defeated the portal will be revealed. The challenge in this Alfheim is to defeat all of the enemies within the time limit, with a five hit limit. However this is an out of body challenge, and your first enemies are fire ones that may only be damaged inside Witch Time by most weapons.
So equip the Gaze of Despair to keep the Angels away from your body, and focusing on you, keep the fight away from your body so no stray attacks reach it, and keep entering Witch Time and using combos then as much as possible to destroy the first group of Angels. Remember that Kulshedra and guns will damage them regardless of using Witch Time. Once they’re down, you’re attacked by Harmonies, which you don’t need to be in Witch Time to damage, but beware their attacks. After the Harmonies it’s more fire Angels with a fire Ardor, so keep using Witch Time and long-range weapons if you want to. Your reward for completing this challenge is a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
Now go back to the end of the section where the crates fell out. Remember to avoid the Wicked Weave attacks in the first section. At the end of this section is a Gates of Hell if you need to do any shopping and remember to pick up Antonio’s notebook, ‘Gjallarhorn Defense Initiative’, which is by it.
To the right of The Gates of Hell is a panel that you need to check then break open in order to proceed.
Verse 5
A group of Dear & Decorations greets you on the outer section of the plane. Shoot at them or use Kulshedra and move against the direction of the wind in order to avoid falling off the ring that you can walk onto.
Alfheim 19/Verse 6
When you have killed the Dear & Decorations, jump into the propeller housing on the left and don’t attack the Angels that appear. Instead use the Angels to dodge and get Witch Time from so that you can get past the moving propellers that would normally damage you. Enter the Alfheim portal at the back of the housing. If you are playing on Hard difficulty there is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood on the left rail, on the top of it, before you can engage the challenge, so you don’t need to do the Alfheim in order to get it.
In this challenge you face a Golem (the stone sphere), there is a time limit, you may only take five hits, and are only able to damage it in Witch Time. You want to stay close to it, but not too close so that its attacks miss you and you are unable to dodge them. When in Witch Time combo attack the core. The best times to try and damage it are when it is in the hands transformation or the dragon transformation. You are rewarded with a Broken Witch Heart fragment for completion of this task.
Verse 7
In order to get out from the propeller housing, you will need to wait for the Angels to get close so that you may Witch Time from them again. Once you make it to the other end of the housing, then feel free to kill the Angels there. With them defeated return to the moving ring and progress away from the way you entered the area.
Verse 8
There is a cutscene before you fight Jeanne yet again. As with previous fights against Jeanne you need to keep continually dodging her attacks, which are more predictable than usual as she is using a great deal of Wicked Weaves. Dodge the Wicked Weaves, enter Witch Time and combo attack her if possible. Initiating your own Wicked Weaves from a distance also helps. There will be moments when you are prompted to enter a counter command and then smash a button, do this furiously or else you will receive damage.
After so much damage has been dealt, Jeanne will summon a motorbike. You need to carefully dodge the attacks from this, enter Witch Time and combo attack once more. Once Jeanne and the bike have received enough damage, the bike will be destroyed and Jeanne will attack you as before. During the whole of this fight you need to be sure to pull out of a combo and dodge if it looks like Jeanne is about to attack back (usually identified with her pulling back a fist, leg or her sword).
With Jeanne defeated there is another cutscene. Back inside the plane head towards the electrified area, taking care not to come into contact with the electricity. On the left, just after you enter the electrified area is one of Antonio’s notebooks ‘The Eyes of the World’, so pick that up. At the back you are reunited with Cereza.
Verse 9
Put Cereza down on a platform that is not covered in electrified water and deal with the Angels. Having the Gaze of Despair equipped helps to keep Cereza getting damage from the Angels as they concentrate on you instead. Keep an eye on the electrified water, and move Cereza away from it before it can get her if a wave of Angels lasts that long. There are three waves of Angels. Continue on, with Cereza in hand, to the next section of the plane.
Verse 10
There is a scene, and then you need to Wall Walk up the remains of the plane. Run up the shaft, avoiding the debris, and then put Cereza down at the top so that you may take care of the Harmonies that have appeared. Remember that the water is still rising, so you need to finish with the Harmonies as quickly as possible. Kulshedra rapidly attacking the Harmonies is one the easiest things to do whilst dodging their attacks.

Chapter XII – The Broken Sky
Verse 1
After the cutscene, inside the plane, look to your right and you will see a chest. Get to an opening in the wire, go down to the chest and combo it open to receive a Broken Witch Heart fragment. Be careful as you do this as someone’s Wicked Weave attacks are taking out floor panels, while this does not make the chest impossible to reach you must go with caution. Move down the plane and look for a pair of broken doors on the left side of the area, just on to where you have yet to go. Break these doors down and combo open the chest to receive an item. Continue on down the plane to find a group of Angels, kill them. Further down the plane, near where the Angels first appear is a chest that you can combo open to reveal a Red Hot Shot or other useful item.
Continue down the plane, still looking out for the strange Wicked Weave Attacks. Beside the end of the first plane section, near some blue barrels, is one of Antonio’s notebooks ‘The Valkyrie Military Transport’ so be sure to grab it. Beside the stairs, on the floor below them is a cage containing a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal), hit the cage open and grab it. With the book and blood in hand move on to the next section of the plane.
Verse 2
When you jump down into this area you will soon afterwards need to use quick Panther jumps to get back into the plane, and once you’re in a pair of Grace & Glory will ambush you so kill them. Once they are dead try to progress further back into the plane you will be attacked by a group of strong Angels, so kill them as well.
When you have killed the Angels, look towards the opening and to the right of it to see a chest up on the scaffolding to the side. Jump up the scaffolding and combo the chest open to reveal a Broken Witch Heart fragment. One of the other platforms, that are as high as the chest, has a caged crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Hard).
Verse 3
After getting the fragment, use Crow Beast Within to help you go to the beginning of this section and then go all the way back to the beginning of the first. You will still need to avoid Wicked Weave attacks. At the beginning you are ambushed by several waves of Angels, the second being Ardors.
Alfheim 18/Verse 4
If you are playing on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty, inside the Alfheim, before the challenge is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood. You don’t need to complete the Alfheim to get near the crow.
After the Angels have been defeated the portal will be revealed. The challenge in this Alfheim is to defeat all of the enemies within the time limit, with a five hit limit. XI-The Cardinal Virtue o f Justice
Chapter XI – The Cardinal Virtue of Justice
Verse 1
The chapter opens with a cutscene. Soon you face a group of Angels accompanied by an Ardor. With the battle won, another cutscene plays.
Start off by hitting this small head of Iustitia with combos, whilst avoiding the accompanying tentacles. With the small head has been knocked out, run along its neck, in Panther Beast Within form, towards the main set of heads and dodge the blades of light appear along the neck at various intervals. When you get to the large red part attack it with combos, whilst avoiding more tentacles.
Back on the platform, start shooting at the new small head, whilst avoiding the tentacles and the long-range attacks from the main head. The tentacles will destroy the platform you are on, when this happens follow the instructions on screen to perform an evasive move. Hopefully the small head will be level with you current platform so attack with combos if it is close enough, guns or Kulshedra if not, whilst avoiding the tentacles and other attacks, such as seed pods and noxious gases. When the boss has lost a certain amount of health you’ll be asked to perform a Climax Attack to knock out the small head again. Run along the small head’s neck, avoiding the blades of light. When you reach the head combo attack the red thing, whilst avoiding the tentacles.
On another platform, the tentacles will destroy it yet again, so perform the given evasion commands. Now on a new platform, focus your attacks on the new small head again whilst avoiding being attacked. When it has lost a significant amount of health you’ll be asked to input for a two-part Climax Attack, and once that has been successful you need to run along the small head’s neck, doge the blades of light and tentacles. When you reach the larger head and reveal the red thing, attack it, whilst dodging the tentacle attacks. With the giant set of heads defeated, perform the Climax Attack and finish it. There is another cutscene at the end.

X-Paradiso A Sea of Stars
Chapter X – Paradiso-A Sea of Stars
The chapter begins with a cutscene.
Verse 1
Three Joys join you in the hall. Dodging their attacks, entering Witch Time, and combos are, as usual, your main tools of defence. If you do use Torture Attacks on them, remember that they need to have lost at least a quarter of their health for the attack to actually kill them.
With the battle done, jump down the hole that the tentacles had previously appeared from.
Verse 2
Landing in a Paradiso version of Vigrid you are greeted by a team of Angels. Dispatch them, and then begin work on the strange metal walls that surround the area. When you attack these they will become gears by the pole in the centre of the area. Despite dealing with the first group of Angels, other teams will appear by some of the walls. When you try to use the pole to turn the gears a pair of Grace & Glory will appear so be quick to get off the pole and deal with them, making sure to dodge their powerful attacks.
With the gears assembled when playing on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty, there will be a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood beside one of the gears.
Rotate the area with the pole until the upper part leads onto an island with a chest and a portal, and then go onto the island. Combo open the chest to obtain a Broken Moon Pearl fragment, then enter the portal.
Alfheim 16/Verse 3
In this challenge you must defeat all enemies within the time limit, using only Wicked Weave Attacks. You have five hits available to you. The easiest thing to do is to build up a combo away from the Angels that appear and then direct the Wicked Weave end of the combo towards them. The Shuraba done Wicked Weave with Y/Triangle, B/Circle, Y/Triangle is one of the easier ones to use for this challenge, just remember to make sure that the none Weave parts of the attack don’t hit any enemies. Your reward for completing the challenge is a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
Back in this Paradiso Vigrid, before reaching the centre area jump up onto the archway that goes over the path from the small island to the main area. On here is a chest, crack it open to obtain some useful items, initially a Red Hot Shot (automatically brings you back to life during a fight if you die). Return to the pole in the centre and turn the area to the pathway.
Proceed towards the now closer path. You will need to use Crow Beast Within to reach it safely. Part way along the stairs that you come to is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal) so grab it.
Verse 4
Continue down the stairs and be ambushed by a group of Harmonies. Dodge their long-range attacks and get in close to combo them to death or hit them with Kulshedra from a distance before they get the chance to hurt Bayonetta. If you have the magic energy available, put some Torture Attacks to good use. With the Harmonies dead continue on down the stairs. There is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Hard) in some grass at the bottom of the stairs.
Verse 5
In the open area that you come to, you are attacked by very powered down versions of previous bosses. First is an impostor Fortitudo, whose weak points are on the end of the dragonheads, and on the head that comprises the main body. After he is gone, an impostor version of Temperantia appears. Attack him from a distance with your guns and Wicked Weave Attacks, and dodge his attacks. The rocket launcher Kilgore can be of some use here as its long-range attacks can do more damage than your pistols. Kulshedra can reach its fingers so is good to attack with as well if you are having difficulties with Kilgore. When Temperantia falls with his face to the ground be sure to get in close to attack with combos, but be wary of him counter-attacking with laser bursts.
When Temperantia has fallen, walk towards the next landmass, to find your easy task of flying over ruined. You will have to use Panther Beast Within and time a careful jump over to the rotating hunk of rock. Enter the chapel once on the other side.
Verse 6
As soon as you are inside the chapel begin to dodge. A group of Enchants litter the floor of the chapel, so take them out whilst trying to prevent them from building up enough speed or else they will be doing you some serious damage.
Having killed the Enchants break down a wall at one end to reveal another area that you must safely jump to. All you need to do is to ensure that you land inside the green shoot; you will then slide down to the platform below.
Verse 7
When you land you are attacked by three Kinships. As with before you need to get onto their deck so that you may attack that easily damaged core. Obviously dodge their long-range attacks, and the pinchers of the one you are on, as you proceed to kill them one at a time.
From the corpse of the highest Kinship, jump onto the platform of light and combo open the chest there to receive a Broken Moon Pearl fragment. On this platform of light, look around until you can see another platform of light in the distance. Use Crow Beast Within to reach this other platform, and combo open the chest there to receive a Broken Witch Heart piece.
Return to the area that you started the fight with the Kinships on. From there take the platforms of light down to the next area below your current position. Walk along the arched pathway, avoiding the tentacles as you go. Near the end of the bridge, on the right hand side is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal), so grab that. At the end of the tentacle bridge, crack open the statue so that you receive an Arcade Bullet.
Verse 8
Further down the stairs you are greeted by a Gracious & Glorious, upgraded versions of Grace & Glory. Their attacks are powerful so you seriously need to make an effort to dodge them as much as possible, whilst only attacking when you have a clean shot to do so. During this fight you will find that entering Witch Time is extremely difficult, but still dodge their attacks. It is a good idea to attack and dodge, as rarely will you be able to safely complete combos.
Following the fight there is a cutscene. With the cutscene over, continue down the stairs. A long corridor of moving spikes will greet you. As with the previous part like this, you need to watch out for the pattern the spikes move in so as to get along the corridor in one piece. After the spikes and further down the corridor is a Gates of Hell. Stock up if you need to.
Alfheim 17/Verse 9
You need to backtrack through the spikes and past the archways with tentacles. In the area after the tentacles is the portal. In this challenge you may only use Angel Arms, which are found in the outer part of the arena, to deal damage to the groups of Angels that appear; there is a time limit and you may receive only three hits. Obviously dodging helps. The bow shaped Angel Arms are probably the most effective in this challenge, not only does it have a wide ranging attack, and a lethal arrow move, but it also deals a lot of damage in general. Your reward for completing the challenge is a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
Make your way back to The Gates of Hell past the tentacles and spikes. Beside The Gates of Hell is a breakable wall. Destroy the wall to reveal a platform floating in the distance. Use Crow Beast Within to fly over to the platform. If you are on Hard difficulty jump onto a ledge below where the wall used to be as there is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood.
Verse 10
The statues on this platform contain a Gracious & Glorious inside. As with your first encounter you need to make an effort to avoid their attacks and attack only when it will not put you at a disadvantage, also be ready to dodge out a combo if necessary, which most of the time it will be. Once they have been defeated combo open the chest on the platform to receive a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
If you are on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty then after the fight a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood will appear on this platform.
Fly back to beside The Gates of Hell, then jump down to the area below.
Verse 11
Three golden Beloveds that become water when you defeat them attack you. It is possible to dodge and enter Witch Time from their attacks. Attack them from behind, and look out for their long reaching attacks with their pickaxes. Take them down one at a time. After the Beloveds are killed, a golden Inspired appears. Shoot at it from a distance while standing on the central platform. Try to avoid being in the water when it burrows into the ground/water, as it may be difficult to dodge its attack when it emerges. After it has lost over half its health it will begin to attack with fireballs, dodge its attacks and get in close to combo it and finish it off. With the first Inspired dead another appears so get back on the platform and start shooting it from afar again, this time it will collapse in a heap in the water so get in close and finish it off before it begins to move around once more, and dodge its attacks if it begins to counter.
When you have defeated the final Inspired, go back to the Witch Time statues on the platform and activate them, so that you may enter Witch Time, run over to the ledge with a portal and jump up it. Enter the portal.

IX-Paradiso-A Remembrance of Time
Chapter IX – Paradiso-A Remembrance of Time
A cutscene shows you landing in the Graveyard of Remembrance; proceed to jump between the available platforms of light, heading towards an island with grass. The area resembles the courtyard in Vigrid. From where you land move to the left and look for a chest past the gazebo on this side, it is hidden near the cliff face. Combo it open for a Broken Witch Heart fragment. Continue along this cliff section, backtracking behind the wall of the main area until you see a crow carrying an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal), so grab it. Return to main area with the fountain that has been replaced with an angelic statue.
Before going near the statue head towards where the small doorway that was at the lower end of the area used to be. It now has been filled in, and has a sun painted over it. Break it open to reveal a chest. Combo the chest open to obtain a Gold LP fragment, Messiah, HWV.56.
Verse 1
Near the angel statue, you will be attacked by an Ardor and several other more powerful versions of Angels. When they are killed a key will be dropped to unlock the Angel statue.
Alfheim 13/Verse 2
Use the key on the statue but don’t go up the circles of light, instead head towards the other end of the courtyard, up the stairs. Here where there used to be a doorway is a cracked wall with another sun painted on it. Break the wall down to reveal the portal. This challenge is unusual, and rather difficult. You need to press X/Square to leave your body, and defeat all enemies within the time limit, whilst stopping you or your body from taking hits. On Normal the limit is five hits.
Equipping the Gaze of Despair accessory and leaving your body out of the way does make this challenge easier, but beware that the Angels will pursue you relentlessly. Also, using the electric form of Durga on your hands with Scarborough Fair equipped on your feet can be a usefully lethal combination. To switch between the forms of Durga, on 360 rotate the left stick and press either Y or B (depending on if you have on it hands or feet), on PS3 rotate the left stick and press Triangle or Circle (depending on if you have it on hands or feet). Even having Shuraba on hands is useful. Obviously you need to be carrying out combos and using Witch Time as much as possible to stand a chance. Completion of this challenge rewards you with a Broken Moon Pearl fragment.
Back in the courtyard, make your way towards the walkway of light that has spiralled out from the angel statue. The rings the walkway are made of rotate and tilt, obviously it is best to jump up to the next ring when the one you are standing on is close to the one above. In order to get onto the rocky sphere above you need to reach the stationary part of the walkway, and then walk onto the rock.
Verse 3
A regular bunch of Angels appear, one holding the next key that you need. Take care of them and then use the key to unlock the angel statue on the underside of the rock. Proceed up the new walkway of light that is created.
There is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Hard) on the fence nearest the new walkway.
Verse 4
Once you have reached the top, climb down the stone/snake walkway. A giant ball will come rolling after you, and you will need to dodge bolts of lightning as you run along the walkway, ignoring all of the enemies that appear. The advantage of dodging the lightning is that you will enter Witch Time for a brief period. Turning into Panther Beast Within form is also of use.
When you reach the next area there is a group of gears. Combo the strange metal wall to create another gear and enable you to turn the platform around using the pole in the middle. Continue along this new path into an area that looks like part of Vigrid.
Verse 5
A key is broken, and its pieces are absorbed into various chests in the area. Keep away from the giant ball whilst you find the pieces and reassemble the key. Some of the chests contain a Grace, Glory and Fairness, so be wary. If you do break open a chest with an Angel inside, kill it to get the key piece and move on.
Once you have all the pieces the strange sphere disappears for now. Before you unlock another statue, look to the left of it on the lower level to see a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal), so grab it. When you have everything from this area proceed onto the newly created platforms of light that slowly move through the air, carefully jumping from platform to platform making your way to the next area. When you land, remember to break open the chest you see, from which you will receive a Broken Witch’s Heart fragment.
Verse 6
Proceed along the stone path to be introduced to a ship shaped Angel called a Kinship. These enemies use long-range attacks, and you need to actually get onto them in order to do any real damage so as soon as one gets close enough to the path, jump onto it and begin combo hitting it on the red spot on its deck. Remember to dodge their attacks whilst you hack them to pieces. Often the one whose deck you are on will retaliate with a pinchers-on-chain attack, which you can dodge. Missiles from the un-assaulted Kinship will reach you on the deck of the one that you are attacking. You receive a Gold LP fragment, Messiah HWV.56, for your efforts.
After the battle go towards the newly activated hoop, but don’t go through it yet, pick up the Broken Moon Pearl piece that is inside the chest then return to the dead Kinships.
If you are playing on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty then there is now a crow on one of the dead Kinships.
Alfheim 14/Verse 7
Jump onto the remains of the Kinship that is to the left of the hoop (when facing it), and look for a shining island in the sky. Use Crow Beast Within to reach the island of light and the portal. In this challenge you must defeat Jeanne in less than a minute, her attacks are similar to previous encounters during the course of the main game. The easiest thing to do is to have Shuraba equipped and use the combo Y/Triangle, B/Circle, Y/Triangle whilst far away from Jeanne. Your reward is a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
Back where you were use Crow Beast Within to return to the nearest Kinship remains and then jump onto the path. Walk up to the hoop and pass through the middle. Smash through all of the weak points on the tentacles to gain the Achievement/Bronze Trophy Naughty Tentacles. Slowing your descent by shooting can help you line up to hit the tentacles’ weak points, or alternating between shooting and falling allows you to shoot out the tentacles as you go. Even activating Crow Beast Within and then using the spear move that is activated with B/Circle then dodging back into Bayonetta using the spears to puncture the weak points and the guns to slow you down for lining up (the spears give you a greater field of potential damage against the weak points).
Verse 8
When you land you are greeted by a group of Joys, so quickly dispatch them. With the Joys dead jump over to the only other area you can get on.
If you are playing the game on Non Stop Infinite Climax difficulty walk under the archway and turn around, there should be a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood up on the side of the stony building.
Continue up the pathway, being sure to avoid being crushed by the spheres that are in this area. If you need to do some shopping there is a Gates of Hell on the pathway before you do anything else.
Verse 9
Jump/fly over to the stone pathway, ignoring the light one for now as there are several statues that contain Angels, crack them open and kill them. Most importantly, at the end of the path is a breakable wall with a sun painted on it, so break it to reveal a chest containing the final Gold LP piece of Messiah, HWV.56. If you are on playing on Hard difficulty there is a crow with an Umbran Tears Of Blood on the left side of the stony walkway as you go up it, you’ll probably need to use Panther Beast Within to get it. After you have the complete LP, move along the stone pathway until you can fly back to The Gates of Hell. Trade in the Gold LP for Lt. Col. Kilgore, a rocket launcher.
Now jump onto the light pathway, but don’t just walk all the way along or else you will fall through it. Alternate between jumping and walking along it by walking on the bright sections but jumping over the dull parts. Be sure to avoid being squished by the sphere once you reach the end of the first section. Jump carefully between the moving platforms of light, trying not to be squished once you reach the next stone platform. Continuing moving between the platforms of light until you reach a much larger stone section. Be wary of another, larger, sphere, and tornados further down the platform. One of the statues along the tornado path contains an Arcade Bullet.
Verse 10
A Golem (the stone sphere) greets you before you have the chance to leave the area. It has a central core that is its weak point, and the only part that can be hurt. The Golem transforms into various shapes and it is then that the core is exposed. Out of the transformations, the easiest ones to hit the core during are either where it turns into a pair of hands or a dragonhead, as it is possible to dodge their attacks, gain Witch Time and get in close enough to attack.
Before you continue on into the next area and end the chapter, look to the left of the entrance to see a chest and a crow carrying an Umbran Tears Of Blood (Normal), so grab it. The chest contains a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
Alfheim 15/Verse 11
Don’t move on to the next area yet, instead return all the way back to where you fought those three Joys after falling past the tentacles. You will need to use Crow Beast Within to make it to the platform. In this challenge you only have a limited number of punches and kicks (thirteen for each of them), and a certain amount of time, in which to defeat a Fairness and a Fearless. Witch Time will prove useful; charged attacks from weapons; when they make themselves dizzy from crashing into walls and remember to hammer down on them then as well. You only have three hits in this challenge.
The best weapon to use is the rocket launcher Lt. Col. Kilgore as its charged attacks for holding punch or kick buttons are extremely powerful. Whilst fighting the Fairness and Fearless with Kilgore, try to line up attacks so that they hit both Angels, and be sure to dodge and use Witch Time to your advantage. Start with Kilgore equipped to your feet, then once kicks are out equip it to punches until both the Angels are dead. Your rewards is a Broken Witch Heart fragment.
When you are done with the Alfheim make your way back to the area where you fought the Golem and go through the entrance there.
